The digital future can come!

New services, speeds and bandwidths in the context of digitalisation place enormous demands on data transmission in public buildings and office environments. In order to be able to use the cabling infrastructure in the long term, the building cabling must be future-proof and planning-proof.

With the Draka 25 GBase-T data cable, the Multimedia Solutions (MMS) BU of the Prysmian Group provides a DTR 11801-9905 GHMT-certified solution with which planners and end users are well equipped for the digital future. For the 25GBase-T data cable, MMS has redesigned a Cat.7A cable AWG 22 and optimised it for the frequency range of 1250 MHz in accordance with the standards. The UC1500 SS22 copper data cable, in conjunction with the 25Gmodule from Metz Connect, is the world's first certified channel in accordance with DTR 1108-9905. This means that the solution fully complies with the channel link length of 30 metres for 25GBase-T stipulated in the draft standard. MMS was the first manufacturer to have the channel measured by the independent Gesellschaft für Hochfrequenz-Messtechnik mbh (GHMT) in its test laboratory and was the first solution to be certified.

Since the Cat. 7A copper data cable is fully backwards compatible from Cat.7 to Cat.5e, companies get planning security if they want to scale up later. Another plus is the 20 per cent higher packing density: instead of the diameters of 8.0 - 8.5 mm for Cat.7A that are common on the market, the diameter of the UC1500 S22 is only 7.5 mm. The 25Gbase-T Cat.7A cable is available in the CPR fire protection classes B2ca, Cca, Dca and Eca.
